Aerial Helix Portable Spiral

Introducing Aerial Helix - The World’s First Portable Aerial Spiral

Inspired by Imogen Gunter. Engineered by PoleAmor UK. Built to perform anywhere.

Imagine arriving at a venue with a full-sized Aerial Spiral packed inside your car. No specialist vehicle. No oversized transport. Just an extraordinary performance apparatus designed to travel wherever your creativity takes you.

That vision inspired our revolutionary modular Aerial Spiral.

Start with the original two-piece Spiral
The initial Spiral consists of a top and base section which, when assembled, measures just under two metres in height. The two sections are connected using our specially engineered internal joint. This joint is designed to carry the working load and stresses through the apparatus, while a simple, discreetly concealed grub screw keeps everything securely positioned.

The result is a clean, flowing Spiral without a bulky or distracting connection interrupting its appearance. Expand your Spiral as your performance grows
Your Spiral doesn’t have to remain the same size.

You can purchase additional modular sections separately, with each section adding approximately 95 cm to the total height. This lets you create a larger, more dramatic apparatus to suit different venues, performance styles, and creative ideas.

Start with the two-piece Spiral and expand it over time; the choice is yours.

A full-sized apparatus that fits inside your car. Despite its impressive assembled size, the Spiral breaks down into manageable sections for transport and storage. Created for performers who want a statement apparatus without the usual hassle of moving it. Pack it into a suitable car, take it to your venue and assemble it on location.

One Spiral. Multiple configurations. Endless creative possibilities.

Professionally fabricated in the UK, the Spiral is welded by our experienced professional fabrication team and incorporates a substantial top hanger manufactured from 10 mm steel. This is the same proven hanger specification we have used across our aerial equipment for many years. Every component has been developed with strength, appearance and practical transportation in mind.

Important information about testing and certification

An Aerial Spiral behaves differently from a rigid hoop or conventional static apparatus. Its long, continuous form naturally flexes, expands and contracts under movement, much like a large spring. Because of these characteristics, the complete Spiral cannot be certified in the same way as a conventional rigid aerial apparatus.

However, the unique modular joint, a critical component connecting each section, has been designed to withstand the stresses that are put upon it by a performer, and the grub screw is simply used to stop the joint coming apart and is not in any way used to strengthen the joint

and must not be interpreted in any way as a certification for the use under LOLER*.

The Spiral is intended for one performer at a time and must always be installed, inspected and rigged by a competent person using appropriately rated rigging equipment and a suitable load-bearing suspension point.

Created for performers who refuse to stand still
The Portable Aerial Spiral gives artists the freedom to travel, experiment and create performances on a scale that was previously difficult to transport.

From intimate venues to dramatic stages, your Spiral can travel with you and grow with you.
